Donald P. Hall, MD, is a counseling psychiatrist and the practice manager of Riverside Counseling Center in Leesburg, Virginia. He enjoys exploring connections between psychiatry and spirituality and integrating these insights into care for his patients.A graduate of the Georgetown University School of Medicine and a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Dr. Hall has worked with medication-development researchers at Georgetown and the National Institutes of Health. He was awarded the American Psychiatric Associations Resident Research Award for work on depression conducted at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
After medical school, Dr. Hall entered the army, attaining the rank of Major. He served as psychiatrist for the 82nd Airborne Divisions and was later appointed Chief of Outpatient Psychiatry at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. As a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences, he published two psychiatric handbooks and authored over 20 medical-journal articles. These included reports in the American Journal of Psychiatry and Journal of the American Medical Association.
