Bio: Corey L. M. Keyes and Jonathan Haidt

Corey L. M. Keyes, PhD is a social psychologist receiving his doctoral degree in sociology from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He is on the faculty of Emory University, holding dual appointments in the Departments of Sociology and in the Behavioral Sciences and Health Education of the Rollins School of Public Health.

His research focuses on the domains of successful human development and aging and the diagnosis and etiology of mental health and illness. Dr. Keyes is active in the Positive Psychology Network, the Society for the Study of Human Development and the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s Research Network on Successful Midlife Development.

Jonathan Haidt, PhD is a social and cultural psychologist on the faculty at the University of Virginia. He received his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania completing postdoctoral research at the University of Chicago and in Orissa, India. His interest has changed from focusing on the negative moral emotions to research on the positive moral emotions such as elevation, gratitude, admiration and awe. Dr. Haidt received the 2001 Templeton Prize in Positive Psychology.
