Spiritual Assessment is a handbook that outlines five assessment tools that can be used to conduct spiritual assessments. David R. The author describes various interventions in each description to empower clients with the facts gathered.

Gathering a respectful understanding of our clients’ spiritual worldviews builds a deeper dimension into the therapeutic hour. It provides a resource for clinicians to plug into and offer to their clients practical ways to utilize spirituality as a resilient strength.

David R. Hodge, MCS, MSW, PhD, is a post-doctoral fellow at the Center for Research on Religion and Urban Society, University of Pennsylvania. He has published more than 50 journal articles and other academic pieces, mostly on topics involving spirituality.
