Author: Jonathan D. Raskins, PhD

Jonathan D. Raskin, PhD, earned his bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Vassar College and his PhD in counseling psychology from the University of Florida. He is a professor of psychology and counselor education at the State University of New York at New Paltz, where he currently serves as interim associate provost for academic advising. Dr. Raskin is a licensed psychologist with an active private practice.

I addition to his many journal articles and book chapters on constructive therapies, Dr. Raskin is author of 'Psychopathology and Mental Distress: Contrasting Perspectives (2nd ed.). It was selected by the Association of College and Research Libraries' Choice publication as one of its 2024 outstanding academic titles. In 2020-2021, Dr. Raskin served as president of the Society for Humanistic Psychology (Division 32 of the American Psychological Association). He previously served as co-editor of the 'Journal of Constructive Psychology'.

Dr. Raskin's research explores constructive approaches to psychology and psychotherapy, as well as traditional and alternative approaches to psychological diagnosis. He is a licensed psychologist in New York..
