In 'Constructive Psychotherapies' Jonathan D. Raskin gives the reader an illustration of how our experiential realities are constituted as much or more by the stories we construct and share than by the cold hard facts of our surroundings. The constructed meanings yield and affect experiential realities that impact mental health and how people experience their lives and relationships.

Raskin shares a range of clinical examples that shows how constructive psychotherapy encourages a dialogue that respects multiple perspectives while fostering critical reflection and understanding to explore the subjective interpretations and narratives people create around their experiences.

This therapeutic conversation helps clients create new possibilities for understanding themselves and their situations, ultimately leading to personal growth and change. Raskin has created a monograph that will truly make the reader think about how one thinks, and that process itself can be freeing and illuminating in many ways.
