This course, based on the book by Rebecca Williams, PhD and Julie Kraft, LMFT, presents 52 addiction recovery topics and in-the-moment mindfulness skills to help clients cope with daily stress and stay grounded in their recovery from behavioral addictions. Powerful skills are presented to support your clients in changing unhelpful thought patterns, navigating relationships, taking time for self-care, and managing intense emotions that get in the way of feeling better in recovery. Bio: Rebecca E. Williams, PhD Rebecca E. Williams, Ph.D. is a psychologist, wellness expert, and award-winning author. She received her bachelor's degree from Williams College; her master's degree from Harvard; and her doctorate with a specialization in clinical psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara.She enjoyed a twenty-year career as a clinic director with the SanDiego, VA Healthcare System; was an associate clinical professor in the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego; and maintained an active private practice. Dr. Williams is coauthor of two popular books bridging addiction recovery with the power of mindfulness. 'The Gift of Recovery' is a ?pocket coach? designed to strengthen recovery, 'The Mindfulness Workbook for Addiction' is a go-to guide for understanding the relationship between moods and substance use. The workbook is now in its second edition and has been translated into multiple languages. Dr. Williams' website is www.mindfulnessworkbook.com. Bio: Julie S. Kraft, MA, LMFT Julie S. Kraft, M.A., LMFT is a licensed marriage and family therapist and an award-winning author. She received her masters degree in marriage and family therapy from the University of San Diegos School of Leadership and Education Sciences. Julie has provided counseling to veterans and their family members at the Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System and provided psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups in community settings. In her current position with San Diegos Sharp HealthCare, she treats clients struggling with both addiction and mental health concerns. Julie teaches a masters level course at the University of San Diego and she has a private practice in San Diego. |
